Thomas William Barnes - BUSTED / Former DCF spokesman arrested on child porn charges

Former Florida DCF spokesman Thomas Barnes Sentenced for Child Porn

This happened awhile back BUT it vividly and clearly illustrates  just how hypocritical the USELESS SEX OFFENDER registry actually is! Read on…

While police monitor and harass those who have already paid their price to society it is stories like this that remind everyone that the registry is just smoke and mirrors and provides no function other than to divert attention from the real criminals and sex offenders such as this! Pathetic that those in law enforcement and government such as Senator Lauren Book exploit fear with the registry while allowing real perverts to run wild – Shame on her and all the offenders who abuse American citizens for their own personal gain and at the expense of the children they hypocritically claim to protect! – Admin

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A former spokesman for Florida’s child welfare agency is accused of having child pornography.

A Gainesville police arrest report says 67-year-old Thomas William Barnes was arrested last week. On Monday, he was charged with 10 additional charges of possession of obscene materials or viewing depiction of child sexual content.

The Gainesville Sun reports the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a report in August that a Yahoo user later identified as Barnes sent a graphic photo of a man and a girl. Police got a search warrant and searched his computer. They found multiple folders of child porn hidden in subfolders. One, titled “too much” held at least 55 images.

The report said some pictures were of sexual intercourse with children as young as 6.

DCF spokeswoman Jessica Sims said in an email that Barnes left the agency more than 10 years ago.

The former district spokesperson for the Department of Children and Families (The same DCF that Sen. Lauren Book wants to train every law enforcement officer on Human Trafficking and that runs our State’s Civil Commitment Center) was sentenced to 2 years in prison.

Thomas Barnes was reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children by Yahoo, after he transmitted a photo of a man and a girl. A search warrant led to the discovery of multiple folders containing child pornography on his computer.

Just another reminder that it’s not someone on a list we need to be watching out for.
